L-Arginine Side Effects

L-arginine is one of the chemical building blocks that allow life on earth - an "amino acid.” We get it from the food we eat and it is vital for our bodies when we produce proteins. Mainly found in red meat, poultry, fish, and dairy products, L-Arginine can also be manufactued in a lab to be used for medicimal purposes.

L-arginine get converted in the body to Nitric Oxide and is used for heart and blood vessel conditions, blood pressure and coronary diseases. In addition is it used for leg pain sufferers with blocked arteries, sufferers of senile dementia and erectile dysfunction.

Other uses are for improving athletic performance, immune system boosts, increasing weigh in AIDS patients, improving wound healing times and shortening recovery times.

It can be taken either orally or intravenously and potential side effects are as follows:-

  • Rash, hives or itching
  • Unexplained swelling
  • Diarrhea
  • Stomach pains or any bloating

L-arginine is changed in the body into nitric oxide (Nitrogen Monoxide). This causes blood vessels to open wider for improved blood flow. It also stimulates the release of growth hormone, insulin, and other chemicals in the body.
